How does Spoel choose the quality?
Spoel divides the size you want by the length of the video. That gives how much data is allowed per second. If that is too little for a sharp picture, Spoel makes the picture smaller so it still looks good.
Why is my video sometimes slightly larger or smaller than I chose?
The calculation is an estimate: calm scenes take up less space than busy ones. Spoel therefore keeps a margin. If the result is too large, choose a slightly smaller size.
Is my video sent anywhere?
No. Compressing happens in your browser, on your own device. Nothing goes to a server.
